A: Operation Kids Foundation is the leader in providing customized philanthropic services for individuals, families and companies. Our clients know…their giving is “OK.” It’s simple really…your passion, our work, more lives changed.
Q: How did Operation Kids Foundation get started?
A: Operation Kids Foundation was founded by Dennis Webb. Like many donors, the Webb’s were continuously approached by charities, educational institutions and other worthwhile projects. With each opportunity, they found themselves asking the same compelling question, “Is this the best and most effective use of my gift?” They soon realized that caring is only part of the process. and Operation Kids was born. It serves as a needed advisory to assist donors in thoughtfully developing their philanthropic goals, researching potential charities, managing and monitoring grants, and ensuring the results of their contributions.
Q: What kind of clients does Operation Kids Foundation serve?
A: Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, but they share a common motivation to give with their heart and their head. They desire effective charitable giving and insist on results in their philanthropic vision. Clients include individuals, families, private foundations, corporate foundations, and family offices.
As each donor’s desired level of engagement is different, Operation Kids Foundation’s services are tailored to the needs of each client. Our work is behind-the-scenes. Operation Kids Foundation's advisors provide personal and experienced service as we professionally assist to develop and execute a donor’s philanthropic vision. We develop long-term relationships by demonstrating the value of our services and earning trust - one client at a time.
Q: How can you help me to make my donations more effective?
A: There are more than 1 million registered nonprofits in the United States alone – a number that has grown exponentially over the last 30 years. It can be difficult and time-consuming to research the impact and effectiveness of each one – or to know which organization is the one best suited to fulfill a donor’s stated vision.
Operation Kids Foundation clarifies the giving process by providing expert advice and research in support of the client’s vision. We help develop a giving plan, which encompasses the donor’s vision and motivations. We then execute that plan by managing dispersal of the gift, insisting on performance and monitoring the impact of each donation. Clients appreciate the clarity of our trademark Return on Contribution™ report, which is both a document and a mindset. The result is a better donor experience, more productive charity performance and more lives changed.
We can also design matching and leveraged funds campaigns, turning your gift into the catalyst for like-minded and sustained giving.

A: Funding decisions are made based on a client’s desired giving plan and charitable recipients are selected in one of two ways: (1) based on the donor’s philanthropic interests, Operation Kids will identify the most efficient and effective programs serving that area of interest. (2) If the donor has already identified charities they are interested in supporting, Operation Kids will work with the selected charity to endure highest ethical and operational efficiencies and best-use of funds.
Q: Does Operation Kids Foundation fund only children’s projects/charities?
A: Due to the broad range of issues at hand globally, Operation Kids Foundation has chosen to focus on those issues facing children and the programs and organizations helping them. Further, there is typically an innocence when it comes to the need of children that we find compelling. We do not discourage charitable giving in any sector, and in fact, we will research any area of interest for our clients. However, our full giving services are aimed at alleviating need among children and investing in their futures.
Q: How is Operation Kids Foundation different than a donor advised fund?
A: Donor Advised Funds, along with various other approved mechanisms are vehicles for protecting wealth in preparation for eventual giving. Operation Kids does not offer tax or legal advice with respect to tax or estate planning, but rather stands at the other end of the process to work with our clients and their financial advisors when it comes to putting those vehicles to work in the most efficient and effective manner possible. We bring to the giving process the same level of thought and planning that has already gone into your portfolio and estate planning.
