Football Legends Drew Brees, Michael Strahan, LaDainian Tomlinson and John Elway compete in charity golf tournament for Operation Kids

Operation Kids is the chosen charitable recipient for the first annual Pro Sports Team Challenge
SALT LAKE CITY – Athletes compete, and charities win as sixteen legendary all-stars – foursomes from professional football, baseball, basketball and hockey – duke it out on the golf course at the first annual Pro Sports Team Challenge at Eagle Falls Golf Course on June 6-8 in Palm Springs, Calif. The athletes will not only compete for bragging rights, but for $250,000 in contributions to deserving charities. Operation Kids, a global children’s nonprofit organization headquartered in Salt Lake City, has been selected as the charity represented by NFL greats Drew Brees, Michael Strahan, LaDainian Tomlinson and John Elway.
“If there is one thing I like to see, it is celebrities using their name and influence to do good for kids,” said Rick Larsen, president of Operation Kids. “We have had the opportunity to work with some very talented entertainers and athletes over the years, but what is happening this June is as exciting as anything we have ever been involved in.”
The winning team’s charity will receive $100,000 with smaller gifts to the 2nd through 4th place finishers. All proceeds received by the pro football golf team will go to help Operation Kids’ “Rebuilding Dreams in New Orleans” campaign.
“Athletes from each sport think that they are the best golfers. It’s high time we found out who really is: baseball, football, basketball or hockey,” said Mike Paul, Team Challenge spokesman.
