As 2010 begins to unfold, and as we look forward to our Operation Kids Foundation Trailblazer Advisory Board Meeting on March 9, 2010, please know of my deep appreciation for your commitment to serve and your willingness to help. Your attendance and participation will help immensely as we share and discuss our plans for 2010 and beyond.
As I have spoken with many of you already, and hope to speak with all of you in advance of March 9, may I invite you to think about how you would answer the following questions:
What does your philanthropy say about you? It is an interesting question really. After all, philanthropy is the ultimate in individual expression. It allows for original initiative and it is quite often a reflection of who we are. Not to mention it is fulfilling on a personal level in a way that can be unparalleled by any other business transaction or exchange. Consequentially, the reasons we give and the means by which we carry out our individual theories of making the world a better place are personal and vary dramatically.
Over the past months, several articles have been written about Operation Kids Foundation donors and projects. Highlights include coverage of the Brees Family Field at Lusher Charter School in New Orleans - one of the final projects to be completed in the Operation Kids: Rebuilding Dreams in New Orleans campaign and coverage of a $200k donation to the Utah Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.

One of the key tenets of Operation Kids is to improve efficiency and effectiveness of charitable giving. This fall, we accelerated our focus on providing an expanded suite of philanthropic services for donors in order to help you increase the effectiveness, impact and scale of your giving.

This fall Operation Kids responded to market demand and began focusing more heavily on the philanthropic services we provide to donors. To reflect that, we gave our website a bit of a facelift. We have also added some new features and ways for you to keep involved with what is going on, along with suggestions as to how you can make a greater difference in your charitable giving.
