Drew Brees Embraces New Orleans Through Charitable Works - Oct 21, 2009

"Nothing could have worked out better than it has here," said [Drew] Brees, who has made his presence felt both on the field and off [in New Orleans].

He took a break from lighting up opposing defenses Tuesday when he and his wife, Brittany, attended the dedication of the Brees Family Field at Lusher Charter School, which was renovated through funding from the Brees Dream Foundation and Operation Kids.

Lusher Charter School will celebrate the dedication of its newly-renovated athletic field, officially naming the facility the Brees Family Field. The name honors Drew Brees, Quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, and his family for their efforts in connection with Operation Kids to support the community of New Orleans, including Lusher Charter School.

Join Drew & Brittany Brees, The Brees Dream Foundation and Operation Kids in a celebration and dedication of the newly rebuilt Bees Family Field on Tuesday, October 20 at Lusher Charter School. The field will provide an important school, neighborhood and community venue for football, soccer, baseball and softball competitions. It is the last of the Operation Kids: Rebuilding Dreams in New Orleans projects to be completed.
